In the Winter 2025 edition of the Candidate Lounge, we introduced the concept of a Critical Error result status.
We are pleased to share that this has now been implemented. From this point forward, if a candidate fails a task or station due to a critical error, this will be clearly noted in their official statement of results.
What is a Critical Error?
A critical error is recorded when a candidate:
- performs an incorrect procedure, or
- carries out a correct procedure at the wrong site.
While a critical error does not automatically mean the candidate fails the entire assessment cluster, it does result in a fail for the specific task or station where the error occurred, since the procedure was not carried out according to the given instructions.
As this initiative progresses, we will continue to provide updates. We hope this added transparency helps candidates better understand their performance and supports them in preparing effectively for future assessments.
